Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on November 18, 1985, at Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix's athletic talent was evident right from the first day she enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first tryout she came 2nd in the 200 meter event during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix completed her high school graduation having signed a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary school. A year later Felix won her first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece and set an unofficial junior world record running 200 meters with a time of 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest ever world athlete to win the 200 meters at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was an avid competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Jaeiro, and Tokyo. She always finished within the top three places of all events.
